The park is City owned with many opportunities for use:
RV & Tent camping with a bath house and several pic-nic shelters are availabe for your convenience. A free-will donation is accepted to help with the up keep.
The Old Grade Trail is one of three nature and historic trails available to hike, bird watch, and learn about historical events that took place in the area. Maps are located in the information cabin (located in the south east corner of the park), at the trail heads (one on Alene Ave. S and one on Lookout HIll off Hwy 34), or in the foyer of City Hall.
The Municipal Swimming Pool hours are listed on the community calendar, but you’ll need to call City Hall for information on swimming lessons.
The 1936 WPA Field House is available to rent for receptions, reunions, meetings, or a small family gathering. Hurry though to reserve the space for your event as this is a hot spot all year long!
Other great opportunities available in the park are Disc Golf, Basketball, Tennis, Horse Shoes, and Baseball. The David Jost Memorial Field is host to many ball games throughout the summer. Funding to replace the grandstand after a tornado destroyed the historical one in 2003, allowed a new handi-cap accessible one to be built in 2005.

Don’t forget the great winter sports in Springs City Park. The historic Rube Goldberg Ski Lift offers plenty of opprotunity as well. Just stop in City Hall during regular business hours and the office personnel will help you learn how to use the ski lift so you can sled with family and friends!

Will be happy to pay someone to make photos of Cleveland T. Hall’s grave site, statue on site of Cleveland on horseback, of his siblings gravesides in same cemetery. If interested please contact me. Family of Cleveland and his brother are interested in having views of resting place of same.

Could you send me a regular email wsprings@venturecomm.net and provide a phone number where you can be reached? I have several places that might be able to assist you, but they do not have easy access to a computer. Laura, WSADC Coordinator.
Dear Gloria, it was nice talking with you yesterday. I found some great historical information at the Jerauld County Heritage Center Museum. I’ll go take some new pictrures yet this week and get them in the US Mail next week.
Is/ was there a nearby community called “Pleasant”? My mother was shown on the 1930 census in Pleasant, Jerauld, South Dakota.
There is a township named Pleasant Township. This is all the information I have. Your best bet to find any further information on this matter would be to contact the Dunham Historical Society. You can call (605)539-9129, Doris Deneke can help you find more information. I hope this helps you find what you are looking for.
Gloria,
Please email me regarding David Horton’s lineage.
